These Crispy Baked Chicken Wings are the answer to your prayers!

The secret lies in parboiling them before baking them in a hot oven. I know it sounds weird, but hear me out!

If you try to baked wings in the oven as is, you may find that they can't get crispy because as they start to cook, a fair amount of moisture and fat comes off the wings. So they end up just sitting in that liquid—that's no way to make crispy wings!

Boiling the raw wings for 7 minutes is just enough to cook off a little bit of the fat. It condenses the fibers in the chicken to tighten them up so that when they're in the oven, they don't release all that moisture. Instead, all the juices are locked inside as the outside skin starts to crispy up in the high heat.

Crispy Baked Chicken Wings that are also juicy on the inside?! Mhmmm.

These taste best tossed in the sauce of your choice! I'm partial to a classic buffalo style. But I also love swapping the buffalo sauce out for barbecue sauce. All you need to do to ensure that the sauce sticks to the wings is to mix it with a pat of butter.

Make these Crispy Baked Chicken Wings for a party or game day! Expand the recipe for however many people are coming over. You can boil and baked them in advance, then just heat them up and toss them in sauce right before serving!

Or create a few difference sauces and let your guests toss up their own fun! Buffalo, barbecue, garlic parm, thai, honey chipotle, you name it!
