This post has been sponsored by KING'S HAWAIIAN®. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

What do you do when you’re having people over for breakfast and you’re torn between serving something sweet and savory?

Keep a 12-pack of KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls around and you’ll never be out of easy, tasty breakfast options!

    Kings Hawaiian Rolsl

As savory breakfast people, sweets for breakfast aren’t really in our wheelhouse. But, whenever we’re planning for brunch with friends, we always like to include a little something sweet or try to find a dish that bridges the gap.

That’s when these deliciously easy Monte Cristo Breakfast Sliders are the perfect choice! They’re a lovely balance of sweet and savory, plus they’re great for a crowd and easy to make ahead of time.

We start with a package of KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. Name a more perfect roll that’s loved more ubiquitously. I dare you.

Whenever I whip out a package of these, I get oohs, aahs, and “oh my gosh, I love those little rolls” from anyone standing in the kitchen. I love keeping a package of these around for all occasions, even breakfast! Their slight sweetness and soft, fluffy texture make them perfect for a quick bite. Honestly, they’ll make any breakfast idea irresistibly delicious.

I always grab mine in the deli section at Giant Food —just look for that bright KING'S HAWAIIAN orange! Our local Giant Food makes popping in and out super easy. And they always have my favorite brands in stock.

Like a classic Monte Cristo, these little sliders are packed with sliced ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese, but with a breakfast-y twist! Inside, we’ll add a Dijon mustard-maple syrup spread for a hint of sweetness.

And for that traditional Monte Cristo texture on the outside, we'll brush on a mixture of melted butter plus a little more maple and Dijon.

Voila, a breakfast that pleases everyone! KING'S HAWAIIAN Bread will make any of your breakfast ideas irresistibly delicious!

How to Make Monte Cristo Breakfast Sliders

These Monte Cristo Breakfast Sliders really couldn’t be easier to make.

We’ll start by slicing the whole package of 12 KING'S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls into a top and a bottom piece. Then, mix up some Dijon mustard, mayo, and maple syrup. Slather it on the bottom layer of rolls. Top with sliced turkey, ham, and Swiss cheese, then place the top layer of rolls on.

Carefully transfer the rolls in a baking dish or on a baking tray. Then, pour on a mixture of melted butter, Dijon mustard and maple syrup.

Cover and bake for 20 minutes, then uncover for a few minutes to let them crisp up a bit.

Remove from the oven and serve warm!

Can I Make These Breakfast Sliders Ahead of Time?

Yes! These are a perfect make-ahead breakfast. Layer the rolls together, cover, and place in the fridge overnight. In the morning, make the butter mixture and brush it on top of the rolls. Bake and serve!

How to Store Leftover Monte Cristo Breakfast Sliders

Well, it’s unlikely that you’ll have many leftovers but if you do—no problem! Wrap up the leftover rolls and store in the fridge for up to 5 days. To reheat, warm in the oven.

Tried these. They would be a great do ahead company breakfast dish. Think I will cut back a little on the mustard as a personal preference

I used de-cased mild Italian sausage and sprinkled with shredded mozzarella cheese. I used Mayo only on the base and used the Dijon, butter sauce as the topping.
