Classic Stuffing

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sage
  • a dash of cayenne
  • 2 cups unsalted chicken broth
  • 12 oz. country style cubed stuffing


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare a 2 quart baking dish by spraying with olive oil.

  2. In a medium sauce pan, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Once warm, add the diced onion and celery. Cook for 5-8 minutes until vegetables are fully softened.

  3. Stir in the salt, pepper, sage and cayenne. Let cook another minute, then add the chicken broth and bring to a boil.

  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the cubed stuffing. Transfer to the baking dish and bake for 30 minutes. Serve by itself or with gravy!
